I am miserable
I want to leave my 9-5
For over a decade, I was employed by a large corporate company. My role involved collecting money and I was paid a bonus every quarter.
However, I could not see my numbers or progress throughout the months. It was always a secret.
At bonus time, I would receive a telephone call from my Manager with the ‘number’ and ‘percentage’ of my success or failure. I had no way to validate or defend my progress.
There was a good bonus and then, many times, a small payout. And sometimes NONE! Nothing. Zero. It was never consistent and made no sense to me. This is my livelihood!
Frustration set in.
I worked very hard for years with no recognition, chance, or future. I was disappointed, miserable, unmotivated, and overworked.
Then one day, when I expressed recommendations to implement new strategies, my Boss had a conversation with me and it became even more clear…
He asked me, “Where do you think your going? ” and before I could respond, “You will never go above or over me!” and with that he put me in my place.
Did my new ideas and ambition threaten him?
After experiencing this year after year, I decided change is necessary.
I pursued a new opportunity and started an online business that brought me the freedom and success I was seeking.
